Australian Go Association

The Australian Go Association is the governing body for the game of go in Australia. It maintains financial membership of the International Go Federation on behalf of all Australian players, fields correspondence from overseas, and makes national decisions such as the venue and director of each year’s Australian National Championship. It, with the Vice-President Neville Smythe, also maintains the only current national player rankings.

The Queensland Go Society is not a branch of the Australian Go Association, but we have many players who are members of both, and we are happy to work alongside them for the betterment of go in Australia in general and QLD in particular. The QGS, along with Sydney and Melbourne, are pleased to occupy a regular spot in the rotation to host the Nationals. We last did this in 2018 and estimate we will do this again in 2022.
